Review Sakai Osaka Japan

This is my first time go to Japan as Civil Ambassador for Culture. I lived in Osaka, Sakai.

My review about Sakai City.

Sakai City

In my first experiance in japan I lived in Sakai. There was lots of delicious food and it’s like a metropolitan (actually it’s a city). The peoples were easy to get to know and I soon make a lot of friends. Beside, the city was beautiful, clean and well arranged. And I feel like in home there. If I have chance I would like to go there again.

"Aisatsu wo egao de kawasu nikko"
In Japan, there’s slogan which is said “Aisatsu wo egao de kawasu nikko” that means “if you want to great someone, you must greet them on smiling face”, I proved it my self, when I was walking in the park then met strangers. They greet me with smiling face and said “ohayougozaimasu” means “good morning” while bowing their body. Then I answered them by saying “ohayougozaimasu” on happy feeling but shocked too. And I think Japanese people are nice people because they are gentle and considerate. Even when someone else made a mistakes, they’ll show tolerance. I really happy to be there.

Sakai Shiyakusho
On Monday, may 26th 08, there was a meeting with japan mayor and I had to introduce my self in front of them. Because it is a formal meeting and many important people and press from japan and Indonesia make me a little bit nervous but I trust my self and finally it was going very well like what we expected.

Japanese Garden in Daisen Park
Tojakuchi is a pond of irises, as its name shows. By the pond there’s an arbor called seitaitei and a path of stepping stones called zankohi, letting me enjoy the peacefull athmosphere and silentness by the water. Looking at the ponds and bridges in this garden and walking among the trees made me feel fresh and relax.

Shinan (Tea House)
In the tea ceremony we eat a cake at first and then drink green tea, because the tea taste much better after eating a cake. If you drink the tea at first, you’ll find it bitter, because it’s more stronger than the usual green tea. Also before you drink, you turn your bowl halfway around and after having drunk, you turn it back to its original place.

Roanji Garden
No trees and no ponds. Just a few stones arranged on a flat expanse of sand. flat, oblong in shape and it has five groups of stones arranged on white sand to break the monotony of a flat garden, the white sand is lightly scratched with a bamboo rake to give the impression of the sea waves.

Ichishogakko
Educational system in japan as the 6-3-3-4 system. It means 6 years in elementary school from the age of 6, 3 years in junior high school, 3 years in senior high school and 4 years in university. They have a proverb is “nanakorobiyaoki” or “if you fall down seven times, get up eight”. It’s means even though there are times of failure, stand up and fight on, no matter what. The proverb also suggest that in human’s life there are not only success but failures also comes along.

Shinkansen
One kind of transportation in Japan is trains. The fastest train named shinkansen. From Sakai to Kyoto only spend about 10 minutes. It is fast, isn’t it? The most important think is that all kind of transportation in Japan are scheduled and arrived or depart on time. So there is not excuse to be late because the train or the other transportation services are late.

Nintoku Tomulus

This is a model of the tomb of the Japan’s 16th Emperor. It’s very huge. It has the shape of key hole and surrounded by artificial lake. People of Japan very respecting this tomb and make it a sacred place. It’s place in the middle of the city. Because it’s very sacred, only the imperial family have the access to enter this tomb, and it closed for public.

Universal Studio Japan

This is the one of greatest thing I’ve visited in Japan. I think the coolest facility in Universal Studio Japan is the Institute of Technology. I can experience a hoovering car in highways, travel to mars, and went back to the past and meet the dinosaurs, all with 3D effect and features. Even though it cost 5000 yen, but this is unforgetable moment for me.
